The new AkomaCare App is a mobile application for Ghanaian health practitioners, which allows easy access to the new standardized guidelines for prevention and management of Cardiovascular Diseases (CVDs) in Ghana.The objective of the app is to render the guidelines accessible and at arm’s reach for every user, while promoting innovation and digitalisation in the long run. - Provides necessary information for clinicians and other healthcare workers on cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) by quick and easy access to the different chapters of the National Guideline for the Management of CVDs.
- Enables healthcare workers to look up information on how to manage a patient with a CVDs according to the level of care of the health facility in which he/she is working.
- A search feature facilitates the look up of specific terms such as keywords, symptoms, diseases.
- Interesting and important paragraphs can be highlighted and chapters bookmarked. They are saved in a folder on the main page and can easily be called up again next time.
- A page can be saved to a "read later" column to continue reading exactly where the user left.
- Includes useful tools for the daily clinic practice such as medical calculators for CVD risk prediction.
- Offers content related games to increase and test the knowledge of the user in a fun and exciting way.
